If bleeding occurs, putting pressure on the area with the glaze will stop the flow. There is no special care required to avoid bleeding. Make sure you press firmly and gently.
Your doctor will prescribe you painkillers. The first two nights are usually tough. As soon as the effect of numbing cream comes off, start taking your pills to avoid any discomfort.
For wound care, you will have to apply saline solution given by your surgeon every few hours with the help of gauze. It speeds up the recovery process and fights any buildup of bacteria. The donor area should also be taken care of. Keep applying prescribed ointments to keep the area moist.
Swelling is likely to occur, and it stays for the first three days usually. Mainly the forehead area and eyes swell up. Sleeping at a 45-degree angle helps with such a situation.
Infections do not occur in typical cases. Avoid going to dusty areas for two weeks at least to avoid the infection. Do not touch the donor area to keep it safe from bacteria. If it does occur even after taking care, inform your doctor right away.
Sutures will be removed by your surgeon from the donor area two weeks after any kind of hair transplant surgery. After removing the suture, post-operative hair transplant care requires you to keep the area as moist as possible. This helps in healing. Crusts will appear and start to fall off. This will take seven to ten days. Applying ointments will ease the itching sensation.
That is pretty much it; if you notice redness, excess bleeding, and prolonged swelling, contact your surgeon right away to avoid any adversity.
